Job Overview
We are seeking a talented General / Operations Manager to oversee our planning andproduction processes, and our shipping operations at our growing Atlanta-based jewelrymanufacturing and direct-to-consumer business. The successful candidate will be responsiblefor managing planning and forecasting, production schedules, coordinating with our leadershipteam designer, ensuring that all products meet quality standards, and overseeing the timelyshipment of orders to our events and end customers. The Operations Manager will play a criticalrole in the growth of our company, and ensuring our customers receive their orders on time andin perfect condition.
Key Responsibilities: Overall Responsibilities
• Understand our industry, our revenue channels, and the needs of our growing
business and how to champion change for growth
• Partner with leadership on the project plans to meet our e-commerce, event,
direct-to-consumer and wholesale retail needs
• Maintain budget and plan for both topline revenue expansion and cost savings
through optimizing expenses
• Develop and maintain the systems and reports to ensure we meet our revenue,
profit, inventory and attendance goals
Production Management:
• Manage and oversee the production process from start to finish, ensuring
products are manufactured on time and to quality standards.
• Develop and maintain production schedules, balancing production requirements with available resources and production capacities.
• Coordinate with the production team, designer, and other staff members to
ensure smooth production flow.
• Monitor production metrics and report on performance, identifying and
addressing issues that may affect quality or production output.
Shipping Management:
• Manage the shipping process, including order picking, packing, and shipment to customers.
• Work with shipping carriers and vendors to ensure that orders are shipped on
time and in the most cost-effective manner.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure that products are available for shipment.
• Resolve shipping-related issues, such as order discrepancies or delays.
Quality Control:
• Develop and maintain quality control standards and processes to ensure that all products meet our high quality standards.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications before
shipment.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent
reoccurrence.
Team Management:
• Manage a small team of production and shipping staff.
• Set production and shipping goals for the team and provide regular feedback and coaching to ensure that they are meeting performance expectations.
• Develop training plans and programs to enhance the team's skills and improve
their overall performance.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field
preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in production and/or shipping management in a direct to consumer, e-commerce and events business, with jewelry experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work
effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
• Experience with inventory management systems and shipping software.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
